Donate to the Colin Ford Endowment Fund

Colin Ford CBE HonFRPS was the Director General of Amgueddfa Cymru from 1993 to 1998. He was a curator, historian, writer, museum director and broadcaster, whose professional life was largely dedicated to photography.  

Before his death in December 2025, Colin gifted his personal collection of photography books, which reflects a lifetime’s worth of scholarship, to Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales. The collection will be named the Colin Ford Photography Library.

Colin's family has established the Colin Ford Endowment Fund to support the purchase of photography books which will grow the Colin Ford Photography Library, and reflect current and future photographic scholarship, curation and practice.

Colin's family welcomes donations to the Endowment Fund, and sincerely appreciates all contributions.

As a charity, we are touched that Colin’s family have chosen Amgueddfa Cymru as the institution through which to honour his memory.
